go through manual. You need an extra license for that anyway

I have searched through the manual but am still unable to find the function PBM. The manual i'm using is an online manual which is listed as below, http://jullio.pe.kr/fluent6.1/help/index.htm. Please advise.

well, it is manual for Fluent 6.1, in that time there was no PBM yet. Have a look to manual of 6.3, maybe 6.2 is enough.

However i'm using Fluent 6.1.22. In this case does this mean that i could not use the PBM function?

I guess you are right, but I am not sure. I am not used to work with PBM. Are you sure that you need PBM?

Yeah i was looking at some forum messages and they were specifying the usage of PBM to solve my problem. Would like to ask you another thing. If i were to create droplets in a T-junction but the droplets created were in the form of slug flow, i shouldn't be using the Mixture model right? Should be using the VOF model right? As there are no dispersed phase. Also any idea on how to make a surface hydrophobic or hydrophilic in Fluent?

If the slug flow was going on, I would use VOF. As regards walls your hydrophobic surface, I do not know. However, in VOF you can set the angle between two phases and maybe, you will need to play with stress conditions on the walls. I really do not know

Hai I could locate the PBM in help mannul. It is clearly saying that we need special licence for that. Here is the exact text from the mannual

1. Introduction

In FLUENT the population balance model is provided as an addon module with the standard FLUENT licensed software. A special license is required to use the population balance module.

FLUENT offers three solution methods to the population balance equation: discretized population balance, standard method of moments, and quadrature method of moments.

Hey Kes. I am sorry for the confusion. It is not an internet website. I just mean the location of the help file which will be created during your installation. When I saw the help files in my local network I could find about PBM. The same path I gave you. Generally it will be the location of help files.

Please let me know if you want those help files (PBM) I can send as an attachment.
