Default Importing ANSYS file to FLUENT

Hi Friends,

My name is Deepak Rammohan and I am a graduate student at The Ohio State University in the Department of Aerospace Engineering. I am working on a research project which involves the validation of the frequencies on a plate heated along the edges.

I have obtained my frequencies by doing a modal analysis in ANSYS. However I need to import the file into FLUENT.

When I open the FILE - IMPORT - ANSYS option, the SELECT FILE tab opens up by specifying the file type as a PREP7 file. But ANSYS has the file extension as a .db format, I would like to know how to convert my .db file to a PREP7 format.

I have tried the tfilter command and have used the follwing extension,

tfilter fe2ram -d2 -tANSYS filename.db filename.grd

Even the above approach does not seem to work. Could anyone help me with this situation.

Thanks

Deepak Rammohan
