Default merging faces on a copied volumes

Hi all

I am facing a very strange problem in gambit. I have two original volumes and a copy of those two in the same .dbs file. I merged the original two volumes and the copy of the two volumes separately (not merging the original with the copy). then i tried to merge the faces on the original which happens successfully. But gives error when i try to merge the volumes on the exact same copy of the two volumes. I used the built in copy command in gambit to make copy of the volume.

the problem it says is that there is a sharp angle between the two virtual faces. But thats strange because it is the exact same copy of the original volume.

Could anyone please tell me what is wrong with the model.
