Fluent on Cell Processor

I am trying to install Fluent on a Playstation 3 (PS3) to see if it will actually run (nevermind that the PS3 has only around 196 MegB available ram) for future use on a cluster of IBM blades or PS3's. I currently have yellow dog linux installed (since it is optimal for PS3) and have the IBM version of Fluent installed. I have installed fluent in the correct directory, but am receiving errors pertaining to the FLUENT_ARCH variable. The architecture of the cell processor is "ppc64" (after doing uname -a) and I can't seem to get it to run. Is there some other way to get Fluent to start or should I just change the FLUENT_ARCH to some other powerPC architecture? Rather than the IBM version of FLUent should I just use the Linux version? Any ideas?

I would try the Linux version, it would be designed better to operate on that system.
I'd be interested to see how you go, so please reply here with your findings. I plan on trying something similar in the future. Hopefully soon someone can find a way of accessing more ram with these great machines. Scott |
