I study a water jet plunging into a water pool in 3D dimension using VOF (unsteady) the pool is filled at 1/3 of its volum with water
after intialise all the value I define a register for the bottom third of the pool: Adapt Region... x= y= z= the mark so the register is created then I Patch the water volume fraction in the bottom third of the pool (the created register) : Solve Initialize Patch volume fraction phase2 (water)=1 in the register The problem is : before calculation I check the contour for the phase2... I found a phase2 in all the domain what is wrong in my input ?? !! thanks too much |

Hello, maybe its just a problem on your contour settings. in the contour panel there is the option to choose the phases. This option has to be set to mixture. then you should see what you want. The other possibility is that you have initialised with phase2 - then you have patched water on water. If it is so, change the initialise volume fraction to phase1.
hope that helps Gernot |
