Hi, Since CFD is Hardware-intensive application, and also I work with fluids I thought that this site would be the best place to ask this: With a bunch of friends, we are planning to buy and old server (IBM Xseries with 8 Xeon´s) in order to run CFD on it. Here´s my question. If those Xeon´s are 32 bits processors, but that server supports up to 16GB RAM, how I have to configure the OS (linux 32bit) in order to use more than those famous 4GB associated with the 32bits systems? I hope I was clear... I´ll have 16GB RAM in a 32bit system, so can I use the full power of the 8 Xeons and all that RAM?

since it is a shared memory architecture, run a fluent parallel version with 8 processes. this way i think you can make full use of it
