Is it possible to solve a problem without Inlet and outlet boundary condition in fluent? Only walls rotational condition is there.

If anybody has knowledge of StarCD, Please share there view about this and possibility in StarCD also.

Hi,

If u can describe ur problem then suggestions can be made. ur question is too broader to answer, any way u need to specify the boundary conditions at the boundaries not necessarily inlet or outlet.

please specify ur problem more clearly

bye

Thanks for reply.

This is small domain near to gears which is engaged and fully submerges in oil. Due to rotation of gears fluid would shear and splash out from both sides. But both sides are inside Fluid domain. I tried this by giving Atm. Pressure inlet and no outlet. But solution is not converging. Please advise

Hi, if you are trying to model only the space with in the gears you can use pressure outlet if you can predict the pressure or if you dont konw any thing you can simply specify the outflow boundary condition at the openings in fluent.

working on 2d problem or 3d

hope this will help you

bye

Hi Chetan,

You can let me know the problem in little more detail, what results you want to check without Inlet or outlet and if you can share your contact details, i will check and revert on receipt of your problem details.
