Default how to get rid of shadow wall

Dear All,

My main geometry (column) is a rectangle in 2D with Length = 10 m, Width = 0.2 m. and there is a side-outlet line at top and two side-inlets at bottom. So I have 4 faces (one main column, two-side inlets and outlet). Two-side inlet faces are connected to main column with two edges which defined as interiors in the boundary condition panel. After running the simulation like this for a few seconds, I would like to close one side inlet through changing the boundary condition from interior to wall. Then Fluent creates also a "shadow wall". I would like to know how to get rid of this shadow wall. What is the use of a shadow wall? (I choose the same conditions as I choose for that wall…does anyone have a clue how it is going to affect my solution?)

with regards,

Hey SSN shadow wall would not effect ur solution. its just created when u have common wall between two adjacent zones. wall is attached to one zone and shadow one is attached to other zone. and whatever u assign for wall would be assigned to the shadow wall too. wall and its shadow are sometime used to model thin wall between two volumes.
