dear all:

i am currently using FLUENT to simulate external compressible transonic/supersonic flows. Coupled solution was chosen and Courant number needs to be set. Does anybody knows whether there are any tricks or techniques to define the parameters such as Courant number, relaxation factors etc. to make the residual decrease and solution converge?

Thank you so much in advance.

Regards

Hi,

I think you can enter: Solve->controls->limits to adjust the limits to some suitable value. It maybe helpful for your convergence.

Also you can use smaller Courant number and observe the residence curve. Hope this can help you.

good luck.

try density based solver...(than pressure based one)...this work better for shock prediction in transonic and supersonic regime.....new fluent version having this option.....gud luck...
