I met a problem about DPM of cyclone separator simulation. I have got the converger result of gas flow field in cyclone. But when I added DPM into it, some error happened. some like float point error. Are there some special issue to be noticed when using DPM? I just take the routine, such as the same particle diameter(i.e.5um),group injection... Another problem is how to control the number of particle injection ?

Thanks a lot

Hi Dear Jason, What injector you use? If you use from File injector in the injection panel maybe your particle coordinate do not match with your geomatry. Of cource i think. good luck

Thanks I just used the surface injection as inlet. I am new about DPM, so I just wanna calculate the grade efficiency. Bad Luck. Wrong Results. WHY?

First of all, use single injection; it is possible that your simulation lead to result, after this step use other injections. Can you introduce yourself? What's your field of study, your university and your course, please?

If you use surface inlet injection then the number of particles you inject is equal to the number of cells on this surface. If you want to controlyour injection, you can create a plan and enable bounded and sample points, choose the number of point on each direction. Then you will use this surface to be your injection surface. Be sure that this surface is included in your geometry: Hope it helps
