hi I m modeling an open channel problem in fluent 6.1.22 I have two inlets specified as velocity inlets My question is that, at inlet i want only water to flow through the whole crossection not the air and water mixture... to do this shall i specify VOLUME FRACTION FOR AIR=0 at velocity inlet ?? THanks

I think it's ok.You can choose the water as the primary phase, then set the Volume Fraction of the second phase to 0.

If you kown the depth of water at outlet, you can draw different outlet for air and water in gambit, then export to fluent6.1.Fluent 6.2 or 6.3 can specialfy the level of water easily by choose the "Open channel flow".
