Thanks in advance for the help. I am currently running 32-bit FLUENT on 32-bit Windows, and my modeling capability is being limited by RAM. Thus, I am thinking about having 64-bit Windows installed on my machine, upgrading the RAM, and installing 64-bit FLUENT. Talking to our software person (I'm a grad student), she said that 64-bit FLUENT was "having issues" on a 64-bit machine she put it on, but the 32-bit version worked OK on it. Has anyone had any issues with 64-bit FLUENT running on 64-bit Windows? And wouldn't running 32-bit FLUENT on a 64-bit machine still face similar memory limitations?

Yes 32 bit Fluent on 64 bit machine would still have memory limitations. There are some graphics issues on Win64 but try starting Fluent with "fluent 3d -serv" which overcomes many of them.

We've been running Fluent 64-bit since Fluent 6.3 came out. I haven't noticed any big issues that the 32-bit doesn't have, expect that Fluent is to cheap to ship it with a c-compiler. So if you want to run udf's you will have to buy Visual C++ Studio.

I am unclear as to how I would start FLUENT in that manner, is that something that has to be typed int he command prompt, or is "fluent 3d -serv" an option in the "FLUENT version" prompt that pops up when you open FLUENT 64-bit initially?
