Default Gambit error on linux: Unable to open file ...

Hi,

We just installed the latest gambit version (2.4.6) on a linux operating system. Everything seems to work fine (i can make+save and open .dbs files) But it fails to open an older .dbs files that's made with a previous version of gambit. It gives the following error and then loads the default_id.dbs:

ERROR: Unable to open file "RxMRF.dbs", for reading and writing

I'm not sure what the problem is, so any idea's are welcome.

My guess would be that there is a security issue and i'm not allowed to write the file? Is there a possibility to yust open the .dbs file without the writing option?

Thanx for your help, Wim

Hi,

Are you sure that there is enought space in disk?

It is strange, perhaps you haven't write permissions for this file.

Try to open gambit as usual and then run the journal file associated to this gambit session (named RxMRF.jou)

Best regards
