Hi Everyone

I am trying to simulate motion of a ship using dynamic mesh feature. The domain has been discretized using hexa mesh.

Mesh smoothness on all shapes have been activated using following text command-

/define/models/dynamic-mesh-controls/smoothing-parameter/spring-on-all-shapes?yes

The problem I am facing is that, the above text command doesn't takes care of mesh smoothness on the plane of symmetry, though it ensures smooth internal volume mesh.

i wouln't work with smooth. Thus you have an hex grid, so I would use the layering feature. it is quite simple.

In my case the moving grid is translating as well as rotating. How do I implement layering feature.

the layering feature is available under define/dynamic mesh/parameters enable the layering option under mesh method.

for the rotatition motion, I don't know exactly how is exactly your geometry, but I assume you can work with sliding mesh

i faced an error message,negative cell volume detected,i think if i activate spring-on-all shapes this error does show again,but i do not know hoe to activate it in ansys 12.0,
any help will be appreciated...
