VOF plus Solidification/melting model

hello everybody,
I use VOF and Solidification/melting model to solve phase changing material encapusulated in a spheric container opened to the air. considering the gravity field, natural convection will occur in the melting material, the solid phase will move down to the bottom, and the material volume expansion causing the air overflow throught the outlet. i patch a region of 85% phase changing material the air is the primary phase. the boudary condition is pressure-outlet. but the result is not correct. because after a short iterate the air diffuse into the phase change material. the curve of monitoring liquid fraction of solidification/melting is not the phase change material but include the air as the liquid phase. because the material didn't melt during the short time. my question is: 1) do i need to define a interface between the two phase 2)should i consider the surface tension between the two phase 3)define/operating coditions/ reference pressure location ,which is the suitable value, at the bottom,at the outlet or at the center? because the air reversely flow into the container the refer to the fluent help, there is an example about water and air in a revolving container. there is not need to extra define the interface. |
