Hi all,
My supervisor told me that DES (Detached-eddy simulation) model is the best for stimulating Vortex -induced vibration (VIV) in the FLUENT. So my question is : Is it true and where do i go about in FLUENT to select this option? I check the tab with the turbulence model (ie. k-epsilon etc) but the DES model is not in there. Am i looking in the right place? Thanks Ken |

In 2D models, The DES option is not available in the viscous panel. Anyway, you can set it on thru manual commands. My opinion is that DES models are not suitable in case of 2d simulations.
