Vapor Flashing

I have a circular pipe with a hot liquid at elevated temperature and pressure. The flow passes a restriction and the pressure drops to well below the vapour pressure of the liquid. As a result water vapour is produced and two phase flow develops.
Is the Cavitation model suitable for this type of problem with high vapour fractions? Can the mass and energy transfer between phases be modelled with Fluent? Thanks for your attention and reply. |

it can be modeled I think. If I not wrong you should use VOF model wit appropriate UDF. Flas boiling...meybe you should use W.H.Lee equation (an example with UDF of mass transfer) and use large relaxation time (0,1 in equation). good luck
