Hello,
I have a brick where there is a wind turbine inside it , i substracted the two volumes and meshed . When i was working on Fluent , I choose the following boundaries : Velocity inlet , Pressure outlet , and all other faces are indicated as walls . is it right ?? . I am working on Multiple reference frame ; any advice , Regards |

Thanks for your reply ,
I didnt take into account any periodic boundary ? Should I ? if yes , what are the best periodic boundaries that i should take ? I have a Vertical Axis wind turbine . Thanks in advance , Regards |

Are you modeling all blades in your case. If you want to model only one then you need to use the periodic condtion. and as far as periodic condition is concernt, you just need to define it, no need to enter any thing else (except the type of periodicy i.e transtational or rotational).

yes , i am modeling all the blades (3 blades) , i amworking on Darius model . I read about the periodic condition in the documentation , but u said that it is applicable only in 1 blade ?

yes if you want to model only one blade (i.e one third of your fluid domain). this will redcude your computational cost e.g if you have .3 million nodes in 3 blade passage then by solving one blade passage (periodic boundary condition enforced) you have only 0.1 million nodes.
But it is not compulsory to do so(but most of the people do so). you should also go to fluent web site and there is one example related to your problem type (fluent newsletter) thanks |
