i imported the vertex data , created a face , swept the face and created the volume( had to stich the faces to create a volume even then) , created a cuboid covering the wing and subtracted the wing volume from cuboid volume . now i tried to mesh this using the tgrid volume mesh , but gambit returned an error " intialization failed ; perturb boundary nodes and try again " (error code 1...... ) ....!
cud someone please help help me diagonise the error and correct it........! thanks in advance..! |

Hi,
I have worked on TGrid to create a volume mesh from a surface mesh and since you are trying to create a TGrid volume mesh, I presume the reasons for errors should be similar. Most likely causes for initialization failure are: - Probably there exist duplicate nodes / entities that need to be merged before meshing - Since you stitch your geometry, there might be places where there are gaps and were inadvertently overlooked. You might want to recheck your stitched boundaries. I havent worked extensively on Gambit and am not sure if it uses the same features as those used by TGrid. Hope it helps. Regards, Vivek |

thanks for the answer. I modelled and meshed using Gambit and was talking of the TGrid type of meshing available in gambit , but i guess u mistook it for Tgrid software. Am sorry for not being more clear with that.but i guess the problems tat u've mentioned mit infact be the same with gambit as well , coz I do remember having duplicated a vertex for completing the wing geometry using NURBS. So I'll check tat out and let u know. thanks again yaar !
