Default hyperthreading and FLUENT performance

I have been told that hyperthreading can degrade the performance of FLUENT. Is it possible to turn off hyperthreading and if so how specifically can hyperthreading be turned off on a windows xp machine?

into the bios and disable the hyperthreading
