Negative volumes

Hello,
As part of my Aircraft Design Project I am doing CFD on an NLF airfoil with varying AoAs and Aileron/Flap settings. The airfoil with 0 aileron and flap deflection works fine - meshed and ran in fluent without errors. My problem is with the airfoils with aileron and flap deflections. I meshed the airfoil with a -2 deg deflection of the aileron the similar to how I did the airfoil with no deflection, however when checking the grid in fluent with the meshed airfoil with aileron deflection I get a Failed grid check error due to negative volumes. Are there any suggestions as to how I may remedy this? What I have tried thus far is changing the mesh size/type with no luck. Thanks in advance! |

Hi,
Check the skewness of the face meshes. Try to bring them down below .7 Should work fine. Thanks Regards Rohan |

Thanks for the response. I've actually figured it out a while a go and have moved on from the airfoil to the fuselage.
Thanks again though |
