hi guys, I am doing flow analysis in a conical diffuser, for large angles, the iterations doesn't converge, of course reverse flow occurs in few faces, in such cases can i take the results, i am unable to decide what to do.. when iterations doesn't converge and reverse flow occurs, shall i leave the analysis of large angle normal conical diffuser ?? or anyway out to get exact solutions when iterations doesn't converge, i will be grateful to u all, can ask me again if i wasn't clear..thnx in advance.

If the reveresed flow is next to the area where you want to know the flowresults then you should increase your calculation area. Sometimes you canīt avoid backflow. If the convergence is still bad try to controll your results with points in the area your interested in. There you can monitor velocity for example.

typical. get the under relaxation factors lower than the current ones. specially the momentum factor.

hi i have done engine plume amalysis (free jet turbulence), and problem got converged, but after convergence also reversed flow is appearing i have tested the convergence for 1e-6 and also ie-8 of residuals but then also reversed flow is not going can any body give suggestion
