Halo everybody, i am PH.D student at Ain Shams University, my research project is dedicadated towards the study of the water flow through a single seated control valve. The aim of the work is to obtain an optimum shape for thr trim area in oreder to minimize the hydrodynamics force, excerted on the valve's plug, in atrial to mitigate the vibration problem, when the valve is operated at small openings(less than 35%). The valve's size is 2inch. However, i am beginer in using both GAMBIT & FLUENT. Therefore, i am looking forwards for any previous experience in the same area of research. For example, what are the optimum boudary conditions for such case? and what is the optimum viscous model to beused/ is it better to simulate the problem as a 2D or 3D problem? Accordingly, i will be very grateful for any help or assistance as soon as possible. Thanks and regards. Eng.Ashraf Sharara assistant Lecturer Arab acadey for Science & Technology & Maritime Transport Alexandria, Egypt.

Hi
I know this its been a long time since this post but I am working on a similar problem. Can you tell me how you solved your problem and the approach? Thanks in advance. |
