Dear Friends,
I am trying to import CHEMKIN file into Fluent. While importing the files I am getting the error like this. So anybody can help me to identify this error. ---Please check if the spacings in the species /bulk/site/reaction-mechanisms sections of the mechanism file are alright. IF yes, check if the species data is available in the thermodynamic database File). Molecular weight of "e"=0 (where "e" stands for electron ) Pls help me in this problem. Thanking you. sisir |

check whether the data in the chemkin file is according to the data in the thermodynamic data (.db file) file of the fluent.
one more thing what you can do is instead importing the chemkin file, copy the thermodynamic data in that file to the fluent database file, this will definitly work if u can arrange data same as that in db file. |

Dear Rams,
I am importing both the CHEMKIN file (.inp)and thermodynamics data file (.db) into fluent. I am doing like this.. File->Import->CHEMKIN MECHANISM...click Then in CHEMKIN Mechanism Import window.. I am browsing the CHEMKIN input file and Thermodynamics Database file in GAS PHASE CHEMKIN... .... The error is coming beacuse of ELECTRON presents in the species list and in the chemical reaction. Kindly suggest something. Thanking you. sisir |

Please check whether the format of data in the files u'r importing is in same arrangement as that in the files in Fluent.

I have contacted the support of Ansys, and it's a bug in Fluent 12.x which will be corrected in Fluent 13.x, so it's not possible to perform reaction with electron using Chemkin-cfd for fluent !

Hey !
I am trying to import chemkin file to fluent but it gives the following error: "Error: Failed to import CHEMKIN mechanism Error Object: #f " Does anyone knows why this error occurs ? Maybe because of incorrect chemkin format ? Can anyone provide chemkin file for methanol air combustion ? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
