Hello all:

I am simulating particle motion in swirling flows. Can anyone tell me how to calculate the mass flow rate of particles at the outlet of the domain? Thanks.

You may create a plane at the outlet (Surface>plane). THen, under report>surface integrals, choose mass flow rate for report type and the plane for surface. Hope this helps.

This will not give particle mass (dpm, Lagrangian) mass flow rate, it will show gaseous (Eulerian) mass flow rate

go to Post processing > model specific > DPM> Sample > choose the injection (select mass flow rate and outlet boundary)
hit compute

for steady state model

Hi han2084s,
Thanks for the answer.
I think wohat you say is true for ANSYS Fluent.
My mistake that I have not mentioned the software, I am using CFX.
Could you or anyone please tell me how to measure Particle (Lagrange) mass flow rate at outlet or any user defined Plane in CFD-Post.

Thanks

Regards,
Vikas

Hi
You can do it like this:
Code:
areaAve(material.Mass Flow Density)@location*area()@location
material.Mass Flow Density variable you will find in Variables.
