Orthotropic Diffusivity in Fluent

Hi Fluent users
Recently, i have been testing the beta release of fluent 6.3. It is robust and has some new features, specifically the inclusion of diffusion tensor panesl for mass transfer problems. They say that the unit of diffusivity specified through UDS is kg/m-s? What is this new unit? Is it dimensionless or a regular number? For test simulations in realizing this new feature in f6.3, i tried to make the diffsuion tensor highly anisotropic both along YY and XX, but see no asymmetry in the contours during post processing. The effect of convection is very low and I believ that the problem I tested is a almost pure diffusive process. What are the typical range of numbers for Dxx and Dyy? If you have experince with ANISOTROPIC THERMAL CONDUCTION in Fluent, this problem i have will make more sense. If you have used this feature in f6.3, your suggestions to my question are welcome at this time. Thanks in advance. Bharath |
