Eulerian Model

Hi everybody
I am modeling a multiphase problem using Eulerian model with a porous media conditions. The porous media section is in between two fluids. What I need is the "lower fluid" should go through porous media and mix up with the fluid at the upper side of porous media section and what I don't want is "upper side fluid" to go down through porous media. But it's not happening that way. Lower fluid is going up through porous media (which I want) and lower is going down too (which I don't want). Hope can I stop upper side fluid not to enter in porous zone. Should I play with inertial and viscous resistance or with porosity? Thanks Hassan |

you could try fixing the velocity of the upper fluid to zero in the porus zone using the define->boundary conditions->porus->fixed values

thanks a lot for repling i am goona try that and i will let u know if i get something. i have tried something else too. i put maximum viscous and inertial resistance for upper fluid and it worked for me and fluid did go down. but let me try that option too.
thanks again |

I have a similar issue. However, I can stop the flow to some extent. I still have some amount of flow happening.
I am working with a gas-solid system where the solid shouldn't pass through the porous zone, and the gas should. Any way I can get help? I have put the resistance to the maximum- 1e30 and 1e20 in both viscous and inertial, respectively. I just saw the thread, and I'm trying a fixed value with velocity 0. can you tell me if it worked for you. and what did not. or any idea on how I can solve this problem. |
