Default Using porous zone to model tube ribs in 2D???

Hi,

I want to simulate transient flow past a ribbed tube. Does anyone have experience with using a porous zone to mimic the resistance and heat transfer of the ribs. My hope is to be able to do the calculation in 2D thereby saving a lot of time.
