Hi,

Has anyone computed the residence time of a fluid (single phase flow) in a vessel, or reactor, etc? Do we have to write a separate macro for it? Or include it in the UDF written for unsteady velocity?

I have to calculate the residence time of the fluid in my geometry and am running an unsteady simulation. I tried several ways, but couldn't get any results. I mean, the computation just doesn't take place. Do we have to enable the Species Transport Equation?

Can anyone walk me through this process step- by- step?

Thanks, Vidya
