Hello,
I have the results from atmospheric boundary layer wind tunnel test using 1:300 scale. Now i want to simulate its result on CFD and validate CFD result. From the theoretical angle, both of them should be same, but scale model in CFD looks like easier than full scale. So Which scale is approriate in CFD? Thanks Justin |

There were some postings previously on this. They mainly dealt with "appropriateness" of scaled domains. A user had problems in matching flow conditions for a scaled domain and a real-life object.
I personally feel that any suitable scale model should work, may be same as your 1:300 model. It needs however scaled governing equations. Choice will also depend upon your resolution requirements and available memory. By resolution, I mean the equivalent gid size on real-life scale as compared to your domain. Swarup. |
