Hi Friends,

I'm now writing a report about some FLUENT simulation results and I would like to include some figures of meshes generated by using GAMBIT. Unfortuanetly the quality of the figures is poor.

I'm wondeing if some one have good idea to capture better quality figures from GAMBIT. Thanks.

Jim

If you just want a view of the surface mesh I think Fluent could do it well. You can save pictures as eps-files thereby getting better quality.

I haven't compared Gambit and Fluent eps-files so you will have to decide for yourself.

File -> Print Figures, and select File instead of Printer. There are different File options available, but all have their limitations. If you're problem is just resolution of refined mesh, then create multiple plots where you "zoom in" on the mesh. Take images where you use the Examine Mesh tool... you can color by volume or skewness. This can make effective plots. Also, use the Display attributes tool to turn parts of the geometry on and off, or make certain parts shaded and others wireframed, or turn parts of the mesh on and off. In all of these cases, if you have a refined local mesh, the resolution probably won't pick it up... but even if it did, you would probably shrink the image to fit it into a report anyway, and that would ruin the resolution of the image... instead make multiple plots where you zoom into the image to show both the global mesh and the local mesh.

Hope this helps, and good luck, Jason
