The error message says that the system can't find the file (see below) but I don't understant why because both files are in the same folder. I can buil but I can't load. Thank you for your time, I'm a beginer, I'm doing the tutfiles in order to learn basics skills of CDF.

Opening library "lib_drag"... Error: open_udf_library: The system cannot find the file specified.

Error Object: ()

Hi,

What sort of UDF is it (which macro is in the file: DEFINE_PROFILE(),CG_MOTION(),.... ??

Do you try to interprete or compile the function?? To compile the function you need a C compiler installed on your computer such as Visual C++.

Fab.

Fabrice is right. I had the same problem (or similiar). You need to check what kind (or which) compiler is good for your operating system. A list of all compilers is on

www.fluentusers.com Make sure to install well a compiler. U can find a instalation steps on fluentusers website.

I don't know if this is what are you asking for... I've opened de .c file and the sentence with DEFINE that appears is

DEFINE_EXCHANGE_PROPERTY(custom_drag_syam, cell, mix_thread, s_col, f_col)

Actually it isn't a particular problem with this UDF's, my real problem is that I don't know How to open/compile any UDF file.

I was trying to compile the function, not to interpret. If it can help you I was doing the tutorial called "Modeling Uniform Fluidization in 2D Fluidized Bed" that is in the following link: http://www.learningcfd.com/login/flu...ials/index.htm

As I've said before I think that it isn't a particular problem with this udf. I've read the manual and now I'm "playing" with dev C++ in case I got the solution.

THANK YOU for helping me!!!

Albert

Hi Man, You should remember that there is only MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ that is compatible with compiling in Fluent. I think that DEV C++ is not compatible with Fluent. For this reason, you could not compiled the file and get the error. So if you are using Dev C++, you should install Mic visual C++ and do it again.
