POROUS MEDIA PARAMETERS! Please Help!

Hi, I'm Jordi.
I am modeling a radiator wing with fluent. The wing has a little holes in the shape. Ok, I am using the porous media to modelize this wing. The problem is a don't know exactly what is the meaning of all the parameters in porous media. Next, I write down the parameters which I am interested. - Viscous resistance (1/Alpha) - Inertial Resistance (I think that it is the C2) - Power Law Model (C0 & C1) - Fluid Porosity (I think this one is the Gamma). Ok, I was wondering if somebody could tell me what is the meaning of each one and which range of values take each one. THANKS in advance, REGARDS & PEACE, JORDI |

I think porous media is for packed beds which i guess is nnot your case. I suggest you shd model your wing as a porous-jump type. In any case, the input parameters for porous media are described in detail in the documentation help files. If you cannot locate them, get back to me. However, i feel your case shd be modelled as a porous jump as in seives.

This is the typical question you should ask fluent support for advice, they are real experts in flow into porous medium as fluent is number one for this type modeling. They are really good. You would miss if you don't.

THANKS to everybody & PEACE! JORDI |
