Hi, I'd like to simulate the cooling quench of a reactor. That means, you have a gas inlet, where the hot reaction products of a reactor enter the quench. You have an injection of water into that hot gas stream to make it cool down. Some of the water is collected at the bottom of the quench, so you have a second phase there, which is emptied steady. Some of the water is leaving the quench together with the gas stream through an outlet. My problem is: the injection of the water is no problem with a DPM. But you also have a secondary phase at the bottom, which can only be described by a Euler-Euler-model. And you have an exchange between the reaction gas and the water, because the reaction gas cools down while saturating with water vapor. How can I put these things together? Has anyone made similar simulations?
