Default A question about Energy terms in fluid

we all know we can set source terms in fluid boundary condition panel. I am wonder how enery terms works. Does it work as a source term in fluid equations? How does heat transfer between the fluid zone with energy and other fluid zone happen? what kind of heat transfer equation i can refer to? tks
