Hi,
Can any one tell me, what does Fluent mean, when it says "reversed flow in 264 faces on outflow 8", while the calculations are going on. I have used a pressure outlet boundary condition, How can one assign right input values for backflow turbulence intensity, backflow turbulence length scale, backflow volume fraction. What changes should be made to stop flow reversal? Thanks a lot Rekha. |

Hi Rekha Reverse flow can appear most of the time during the early iteration stage you do not need to worry about that so first try to run your simulation long enough to get a stable flow see how it goes. The other thing you should look at after you really check your boundary condition if it right or not is to look at the following: The quality of your grids Inlet/outlet should far enough from the point of interest in your calculation Try with less mass flow rate at the inlet till you get an initial solution.. / First order/reduce under-relaxation factors Hope this help Wark Note: you have not said much about your geometry
