Fluent journal - setting ideal gas

Hi ! I'm trying to set up my material with the journal. I wrote "define materials change air
air ideal-gas But Fluent wants me to fill in other parameters (Cp, sound speed...) and I want them to be set as default values. Do I have to set them up anyway ? After, I want to set the opearting conditions, and if I stop at "ideal gas", "define operating-conditions" is understood as a Cp method !! (is there any command to simulate the "return key" or something equivalent?) I hope my explanation was clear enough and you'll be able to help me ! |

as far as I know, Fluent takes every "return" in the journal file as a "real return".

I tryied like this :
"define materials change air (air) (ideal-gas)" but Fluent returns this : define materials change air (air)Invalid material. (ideal-gas)Invalid material. material name [air] air is a fluid change Density? [no] change Cp (Specific Heat)? [no] change Thermal Conductivity? [no] change Viscosity? [no] change Molecular Weight? [no] change L-J Characteristic Length? [no] change L-J Energy Parameter? [no] change Thermal Expansion Coefficient? [no] change Degrees of Freedom? [no] change Speed of Sound? [no] |

I´m sorry, the () command was the return for the execute commands and not for the journal-files. I tried some things it worked with :
define materials change air air y ideal-gas n n n n n n n n n I hope thats what you are looking for |

I tryied "define materials change air air y ideal-gas n n n n n n n n n" but it does not work :
define materials change air air air is a fluid y Density methods: (constant ideal-gas incompressible-ideal-gas boussinesq piecewise-linear piecewise-polynomial polynomial user-defined) ideal-gas no data required. n n n n n n n Error: CAR: invalid argument [1]: wrong type [not a pair] Error Object: p n invalid command [n] |

try following:
//define/materials/change-create Air_ideal_gas y ideal-gas (use only ONE return for each line) and so on and so on... Fluent will ask you all the options to set... viscosity, cp, sound.vel,... if you want to change it, use y and then type in the option or value, if not, type in n Hope, it helps Ralf |
