Hello everybody: We have got a new computer at the Naval Architecture Lab of the University of British Columbia. This system has a Linux CentOS operating system. As we can not use Microsoft Visual C++ (which can be used for compilation of UDF's under windows systems) we are wondering if someone has any idea about any version of C that can be used to compile UDF files under this OS. Thanks for your time.
Sincerely, Yasser Nabavi, Department of Mechanical Engineerng, University of British Columbia |

GNU/Linux systems come with the gcc compiler. So you don't need anything else. Please read the user-manual before posting such questions.

Hi Jack: I knew that I have gcc on my OS but for an unkown reason, it doesn't compile my UDF's. I thought I might need a different version. Thanks anyways for your comment.
