Default Controlling surface transparency via command line

Hi

I am trying to find out how to control the transparency of surfaces using the command line. So far, I have been unable to find the path required to get to this.

I know that this can be done manually by the scene menu, however I would like to know how to do this by the command line.

Any help on this would be great!
