Default Turbulent: VOF for reservoir problem

Hi ..I am modeling flow through a reservoir intake..Can I use a steady VOF approach in 3D turbulent modeling..What boundary condition I have to specify for VOF module.I tried with very simple problem in 2D.I am not able to perform it..Please give suggestions. thanks
