Hello,
to satisfy the Y+ range for a turbulent flow over an airfoil, after convergence I adapted the mesh around the airfoil and iterated until the lift and drag reached a constant value. After this the Y+ is within the range. But after adaptation, residuals do not converge anymore. Is the procedure correct? Thank you |

hi,
what type of adpation did you do... I mean did you adapt by selectiong the region? if so, then you can go for adaption on the basis of y+. after the adaption the residuals will shoot up, but will come down very fastly to the same level that you had. if still problem persists, then adapt the mesh in steps, i.e. adapt the cells with higher y+,let the case run for some time time so that residuals will come to prevoius level, then again for next step with low y+ Prashant |

Thanks for your help,
After convergence, I did Boundary Adaptation (adding 2 rows of cells) around the airfoil walls. Iterating again, residuals initially decrease very fastly, then reach a constant value, but energy equation residual now is above the limit (1e-6). I'll follow your suggestion creating 1 row of cells, iterating for some time, and then adding another row of cells and iterating again. Thank you very much |
