VOF method on inter-tank transfer

Hi,
I'm a doing a final year project on using Fluent's VOF method to simulate inter-tank fuel transfer in aircraft. The setup just involves two adjacent rectangular tanks with a hole/orifice separating them. One tank has an inlet of water flow into it, and my simulation need to find the flow rate through the hole/orifice for different water level difference (head) between the tanks. I'm still in the preliminary stages of the simulation, and I've had no luck in searching for literature and studies done previously on this type of problem (using VOF to simulate inter-tank transfer). Has anyone come across any tank transfer studies using the VOF method? |
