Hi,
modeling turbulent flows, what can I do if residuals oscillate about a constat value far from convergence? Thanks |

Im modelling turbulent flow with the k-e model. So far ive been using the steady flow solver.
Turbulent flow is always changing with time, so should you use an Unsteady solver for ALL turbulent flow modelling? Matt |

If you're modeling external flows (flow around buildings, cars, airplanes), consider to extend your domain past the obstacles until the flow is fully developed. This hint can be applied also to internal flows, anyway...
Obviously, all remains valid if there are not other concerns, for example if there are not highly time dependant phenomena (vortexing) and you are forcing a steady solution... Hope this helps Edi. |
