I need to generate a large number of DPM injection points with different point properties. Manual insertions is very unhandy for this. Is there anyone who can give me advice on how to automate this?

I am new in DPM. But I think you need to write a UDF file to automate this. I also hope some one can provide good and detailed suggestions.

I use Excel to calculate multiple (2,000 to 5,000) particles with differing initial positions, velocities, diameters, mass, and temperature. Once you create a text file - the manual gives you the format, be careful with brackets etc. - this can be linked to the injection.

Plan on spending at least a few days to get something to work.

Ok, Thanks, I currently use solid cone injections, so I will have to make my own routine to create individual particles in cone shapes (I need some 200+ cone injections). Any tips to do that in an easy way? I guess there is no intermediate option to generate automatically many solid cone injections?

Well, you can use the V-Basic part of Excel (or other programming language of choice) to automate the generation of particles.
