hai,

Iam working on DPM problem. In that i define my injection as surface injection with a particle size of 50 microns .After the particle DPM iteration i see in the summary report that all my particles are aborted. But if the same injection done with a 1 micron particle , all the particles that are tracked are escaping. Can i know why is this discrepancy. NOTE: Turbulent Dispersion No of tries -0.1,Time scale constant -0.15),Tracking parameter (1e+08),Step length factor -15.

Thanking you,

Ganesh kumar.V

check the wall condition from where u r injecting keep it reflect and tracking parameter 10000 step length 5

hai, thanku for ur kind reply, I had mentioned it as a surface injection,ie(from my gas inlet) & B.C's at all walls reflect only. And this is a cyclone calciner,so i gave a high step length of 1e+08 so all particle will escape.

Thanku GKV

hi

as far as my knowledge is concerned u"ve to give no of tries in terms of 1,2 3, etc u"ll get more information abt no of tries in fluent user guide .one more thing ur max number of steps will be the product of ur cell elements and step length factor.Make sure ur boundary conditions are (DPM)correct.

hope it "ll works
