Hello,
I am also doing simulation on slug flow using Fluent. However i am still trying. Hope that we can help each other. Regards |

For doing slug flow analysis, you will need to do unsteady analysis, VOF of fluid method is good for slug simulation. Does anyone have idea of slug catcher ?

I have kept it at 0.25.
Are you also simulating slug flow? |

did you add in surface tension? what is the boundary conditions and initial conditions u have used? do you have any readings or tutorial regarding slug flow simulation?

i can't remember the value of surface tension. is there any empirical value for that? i've used gas inlet velocity and outlet pressure as my boundary conditions.

There should be experimental data for that. i think you can go search journal for the value.
When using VOF, the meshing is very important. If you come across any good journal on slug flow please let me know cos i also needs them thanks. |

i can't see any volume fraction for the air in the animation, meaning the whole column is water. so i wonder what is the error. can someone show me how to set the animation? and i wish to know what is the optimum velocity for the inlet gas. thanks.

did u include the bubble into the computational domain? if not how are you going to see air fraction inside?
