hey guys
fuent complains about "memory.malloc_storage" and crashes on me. I guess there's problem with the memory here. can one TELL me how to increase the solver memory?-asap!!! It doesn't even parform the iterations. Thanks. |

The errors you are reporting while reading the mesh file into the solver are mainly due to memory limitations. As a rule of thumb, using a 32 bit operating system, FLUENT can solve up to a 2 million cell problem in serial mode. If your memory needs are larger than this, you may need to switch to the 64 bit version of the solver, or use parallel computation.
Please let us know the total cell count for your mesh. That should give us an idea of what the memory needs are for your computation. Then best way to start with parallel computing is to review a tutorial on parallel processing: Tutorial #24. Here is a link to this tutorial http://www.fluentusers.com/fluent/do...tg/node353.htm http://university.fluent.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45 |

2 ways: - increase the size of pagefile.sys (but swapping will slow down your calculation) - increase your RAM
