Default Mesh Resolution in Gambit

Hi,

I have a triangular mesh for my geometry in GAMBIT. Since this is very coarse, how do I improve the quality of the mesh? And also, how do I find the resolution of the existing mesh?

I need to another appendage to the existing geometry. I found out the points (X,Y,Z coordinates)that comprise the appendage from MATLAB. This gave me a nice quad mesh. So I want to refine the mesh of my original geometry to get a quad mesh. How do I do this?

Thanks, in advance.

Vidya

To get a refined Increase more mesh points into your goemetry edges and do surface mesh again.

To get a quad mesh, split your original complicated geometry into (multiple) smaller and simple geometires.

Quad. mesh is recommended for any flow problem, because it has less skewness. The creteria for the Quad. mesh is Opposite sides of the face edges should have equal no. of nodes. In Quad. mesh,no. of nodes can be easily controlled compared to tri. mesh.

Try this out.
