Hi! We are running a 7 Million cells heat exchanger in a Windows cluster. We have not found any problem in the parallel version of Fluent, however the grid generation process was very tedious. I show the details of our meshing process: 1.-Import the Catia V5 geometry in Hypermesh as igs. 2.-Create a 2d mesh with Hypermesh. 3.-Create the air mesh file 3D with Tgrid. 4.-Create the water mesh file 3D with Tgrid. 5.-Join th two domain meshes with Tmerge. 6.-Read case in Fluent. 7.-Fuse zones. The process of fuse zones in Fluent is very tedious. We would like to create the complete mesh in just one mesh, but the max RAM of available computers is 4M. I would like receive any type of information related to: Limitation of cells number in Tgrid. Is there any mesh package that run in parallel?.Could anyone improve our meshing process?
Thanks in advance(Sorry,English is not my native language and is the first time I participe in this Forum) |

What is your operating system, if Windows, What file system are you using, if FAT32 then as a first step you have to re-format to NTFS You see, FAT32 does not allow a file size more than 4GB But if you are using UNIX/LINUX then forget about what I said before, good luck

I made a mistake in the first message I sent, of course the max RAM of the available computer is 4 Gb. Thanks Ahmed, but the problem is not the size of the final mesh(when I join the mesh with Tmerge utility the mesh file size is less than 800mb)
