Default Animation of planes in Flunet

All:

I have created 30 planes (surfaces) in the fluid domains from inlet to exit. I want to animate the results from inlet to exit posting one plane at a time. Can anybody help me.

I couldnot capture the animation by Display>Sweep surface. I couldnot use Diplay>Scene Animation either.

Please let me konw the way I can create animation for my results. I'm not allowed to download any third party software for this use.

My suggestion: hardcopy a jpg for each surface (the easiest way is using a script doing thsi for you) and merge them to a single animation file, e.g. in gif format.

You can simply use Solve > animate > define, and then you will identify wich type of animation you need ... good luck

Details from this guidance can be used in order to combine multiple frames into one movie. Note that JPEG quality should be avoided! Use TIFF.

Thanks for the quick response from all of you. It is unfortunate that I can't download a third party software to my machine in my company. Is there any way to do the animation in Fluent itself.

Ahmad, To let you know, I'm running Steady State, not Transient. Taken your point

AFAIK there is no way doing this in fluent when you run steady state. Are you running Win or Linux? Linux provides some tools for creating animations right from the start.

Hello, You can use this function with the steady (by indicating the number of iteration to take the image) or with the unsteady (by indicating th number of iteration or the number of time steps). It's more practice to save the image using MTA file (if no , you calcul will saturate the memory of you computer ). With this function you need no additional program ..

to review or save the animation file you must click solve > animate > play back.

@Ahmad BATIKH: I am afraid you do not get the aim of this feature right. In steady state you are interested in the one and only converged solution. so why should one write an image file after a couple of iterations when the solution may be converged or maybe not.

If you are still interested on creating an animation within fluent you should have a look at tutorial #22 (postprocessing), which can be found at fluentusers.com. The document provides detailed instructions on how to do that for a steady state solution.

Define your plane as an isosurface, using the desired axis (plane of constant grid). This allows you to animate the plane by setting the isovalue from one value to the other.
